Make musicOur music projects are now open for new referrals.
We have started delivering in person music sessions at our base in Campbell House for participants living in the community. We have also started to deliver sessions for inpatients and care home residents. The team have also produced a series of videos demonstrating a variety of musical ideas and activities to try at home. |
Common Wheel's music project provides participatory music activities for people with mental illness across Glasgow; in hospital wards, care homes, and in our music studio at Campbell House in Gartnavel Royal Hospital. Our music workshops support participants to participate and share in music making.
Our groups are led by our team of professional musicians, and are suitable for all, whether participants have never tried an instrument before or already play one. Everybody gets the chance to play a variety of instruments and/or sing.
Research has shown that structured music programmes can improve mood, communication, self-esteem, self-confidence and self-image. Music helps us to define our creative identity, express ourselves, and connect with others.
