Polyphony

"Many voices working together"

A branch of Common Wheel providing music for mental health and wellbeing in Scotland.

We were on TV! Polyphony was up for the People's Millions on Wednesday 24 November.

Many thanks to everyone who voted for "Back to Life" - we won!

This initiative will allow six residential care homes and community centres in Glasgow to participate in an established project which will combine music with reminiscence work for older people suffering from dementia.

Welcome

Polyphony is a music project which offers people with mental health problems from all over Glasgow access to musical activities. We have an Adult and a Seniors' project.

Who can join?

  • inpatients from Gartnavel Royal Hospital
  • mental health service users in the community
  • older people in residential care homes
  • members of Glasgow based community mental health groups

Benefits of taking part

Being involved in the project may boost self esteem, self confidence, and social skills, reduce agitation, improve relaxation, and contribute to greater autonomy and independence.

Engaging in purposeful activity is beneficial to all.
