I-Spy, or Common Wheel bike spotting
A fun game for all ages.
RULES REVISED see below
Once you know what a Common Wheel bike looks like, you'll start to see them all over Glasgow.
All the bikes we have sold since 2003 have a little sticker on them. That's it up in the top left corner of the screen. It should be on one of the main tubes of the bike. Many of the repairs we do also get a sticker, so they count for the purposes of this game.
Rules: Start on a Monday and see how many you spot that week. Bikes seen inside don't count, they must be spotted outdoors, either moving or locked up. Bikes you or someone in your household own don't count.
To enter, email or post your score. Each bike is worth one point.
Prize: a tunnocks tea cake.
The old rules are below, but they are too complicated so no-one has ever entered.
We have sold over 1000 bikes, so there are lots out there. The fewer we have done of a type, the more points it is worth.

Add 20 points for a five speed hub gear, 30 points for a seven speed and 100 points for a Rohloff (there are 3 of these, one of which has no sticker as it is covered in sequins).
If it has a Drumchapel sticker, points are doubled.
Coloured brake levers add 3 points.
Add 5 points for every hour's cycling distance from Glasgow the bike is.
About the dealer stickers: Most bike shops put a sticker on the bikes they sell. It's cheap advertising. We do it for that reason, and it makes the people who work on the bikes feel good when they see one out and in use. Our stickers are made by Butchers Printed Products, a fine long established company in England.
