3 Speed Fixed Gear

With the introduction of the new Sturmey Archer S3X Hub, a 3 spd fixed gear bike can now be made up without the hassle of having to track down an old ASC hub.

We have been testing the new hub in the bike above since 8/10/09. So far our chief tester has used and abused the hub and hasn't found any faults. He doesn't recommend the use of the plastic pulley wheel for cable routing as seen on some new 2010 model bikes, this due to the cable tension when changing into first gear.  A list of the various options on the hub and shifter plus technical specifications for the S3X can be found here.

A few of our customers who ride fixed have had a  test ride, all we're very impressed and some are waiting for more info on when our wholesaler has them in stock so they can place an order.  We will put a note on the site when they become available and the costs for building and fitting.
